Belonging

As we welcome many new families to our College it is important for all students to feel safe and supported. A sense that we belong, we fit, and we have a place, assists us in feeling a part of a new setting or culture. Research shows that school uniform plays an important part in the engagement of pupils within the school, in promoting a sense of identity, belonging and connectedness to school.

Across both Primary and Secondary we are asking students to fix the parts of their uniform that are not in line with our policy and you can assist with this. Get to know your child’s timetable and ensure that they only wear sport on the days they have PDHPE. Check your child’s shoes and ensure that these along with hats and socks and jumpers are correct. Students should only be wearing sneakers with the sports uniform and leather school shoes with the formal uniform. All students should have a hat. Long hair must be tied up. The correct uniform guidelines are found on our web page in the handbook.

Swimming Time Trials

Many of our students participated in a wonderful Swimming Time trial event. HUGE congratulations to Mr McSwan for his flexibility and organisation and to all of our teachers who remained on duty until 7:00pm to run this event. Several records were broken and many students achieved PB’s. Thank you also to our amazing parent body who assisted with all the jobs that go into making these events a success.

New afternoon Parking Space K-2

To alleviate the pressure on Avoca Drive, each afternoon  the college has allocated several free carpark spaces on the 7-Eleven side of P3. These spaces are for parents to wait until the Kiss & Drop line starts moving, or to park and collect your children if this is your preference.

Please also remember that Gate 2 is for Little Coasties drop-off and pick-up only, and for Church staff/visitors and should not be used by GPCC families during this busy time.

Parent Partnership Evening Wednesday 15 February

Parent, Teacher Partnership interviews are on Wednesday 15 February. All bookings need to be made through the Parent Lounge. Information on how to access these bookings has been sent via email.

Parent bookings are now open and will close at 3:00pm on Tuesday 14 February.

Please note that whilst students are welcome to attend the meeting or to sit quietly outside the room – there will be no supervision of students and they will not be allowed to play on the playground or play equipment.

If you have any concerns regarding accessing Parent Lounge, please contact the college office.

How to book an Interview on Parent Lounge

You may access your account with your family number previously supplied. The easiest way to learn how to book your appointments is to watch the short video once you have accessed your account, under "School Links" tab, and select "Help Guide" to access the video on 'How to Book Parent Teacher Interview'.  Please take a few minutes to watch this video as it will make the process much easier for you.

Primary Choir

Primary Choir is meeting at 8.00am - 8.30 am each Tuesday morning in CAPA 5, in the Creative Arts auditorium. Students from Years 1-6 are welcome to join. It is a wonderful way to begin the day. Students should walk down the pedestrian path next to the MPC for their safety, as staff drive along the sealed road. Mrs Munro and Mrs McKeown look forward to an exciting range of performances throughout 2023.
