Kiss and Drop 3

Our aim is to provide drop off and pick up arrangements for all students and families that are convenient and safe. When using these areas it is important that parents not exit their car as this holds up the flow of traffic. Remember to have  the childrens bags in the car with you and ensure that all students enter and exit the vehicle curb side.

Please note the information links on our website around using the kiss and drop areas safely. Traffic Management Plan and Visitor Parking Video

Student Representative Council

SRC 2023 have made a great start to the year. Classes from 1-6 have conducted a class meeting and put forward ideas to improve our school. Our capable Councillors have created an agenda and we are holding our first Representative meeting Wednesday week 7 to vote for the best idea to take to Mrs Smith to petition for action.  We look forward to working as a team to make a positive impact on our school.

National Young Leaders Day - Darling Harbour

On Tuesday 7 March, the Year 6 student leaders along with Mrs de Lore and Mr Cantor joined 5000 other students from across NSW in attending the National Young Leaders Day held at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.

The day was jam packed full of exciting experiences for our student leaders. Each session included one or two speakers, question times, short videos, learning exercises, student involvement, music and student interaction. The speakers on the day included, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (RETD), Caitlin Bassett – Ex Australian Diamonds Captain, Hazzeem Hussain – Comedian and Chris Green – Sydney Thunder Captain, and Dr Jordan Nyugen – Bio Medical Engineer.

Some of the key points that leaders shared with the students were, listen as leaders, be humble as leaders, work hard as leaders, serve others as leaders, and use your creativity as leaders.

As you can see from the photos, the students were thrilled to attend the day and learn what it means to be a leader. We look forward to seeing our students put the lessons they learnt on the day into practice within GPCC and their personal lives.

Many thanks to parents who dropped their children off at Gosford station by 6:30am and to Mrs de Lore for her willingness to attend the day and take photos for the students.

Wakakirri

This Year GPCC students in Years 5 and 6 will have the exciting opportunity to be a part of a Wakakirri – a National Performing Arts, Story Dance Festival. Our students will tell a story through movement and dance and will perform this at the Riverside Theatre in Paramatta in Term 3. Places are available for 80 students from Years 4, 5 and 6 to join the Wakakirri team. Please see the email sent out and details  on how to register your child for this exciting event.
