Head of Secondary

Mr Steve Lobsey | Head of Secondary

Have you ever played Mario Kart?

In it, you can pick up items to help your driver or hurt others. Probably the most powerful of these is the bullet, which will take you extremely quickly through the course without you needing to steer. Often it will leave you in first place without any effort.

But what if you didn’t understand the game and tried to dodge the bullet when you saw it. It would seem like a symbol you would want to avoid. You would be missing out on some great power that would transform your position in the game.

Some students are a bit wary of Christian activities in school. They are reluctant participants in Chapel or Bib Studies. If this is you, I would want you to think about the possibility that you are avoiding something that could be very good – it could even be something transformative in your life. Like the bullet, it would be worth learning more about it and even taking hold of it and seeing how it could change your life.

I became a Christian later in life – I was that person avoiding the ‘bullet’, but once I learned of Jesus’ power and embraced Him as my saviour, my position in life was transformed forever.
