God loves us, even when we mess-up

As I was walking around the campus on Wednesday of this week, I was struck by the most beautiful voice emanating from the MPC. I had to see who was singing with such power and clarity. I walked in and found the student, one of our Year 11 girls, Arielle G, practicing her first solo for the LIFE service. She said that she felt nervous, so I encouraged her and reminded her to sing for God, not for herself. To let His presence, wash over her and give her peace and courage.

Arielle chose to sing 'You Say' by Lauren Daigle because it reminded her that sometimes we all feel like we don’t fit in, that we are not good enough, or worthy of being loved, but God loves us all unconditionally. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift, Arielle, and for stepping out in faith to praise and worship our heavenly Father.

This term the theme at Secondary LIFE is 'Messy People'. In the same service, our guest speaker, Nathaniel Ward, was interviewed by Mrs Gavin and shared his testimony. He spoke about his rebellious years at school and as a young adult, how he chose to turn away from God, despite growing up in a Christian household. He was making many bad decisions and getting into a lot of trouble. Nathaniel turned his life around and turned back to God.

He went onto study and become a nurse and is now working full time at EV Church involved in the Ministry Training Strategy Traineeship in the hope of becoming a pastor. Thank you, Nathaniel, for sharing your story with our students. It was incredibly powerful and courageous of you and demonstrated God’s unfailing and unconditional love for us, even when we make a mess of our lives.
