From the Principal

We have just held the inaugural meeting of our Principal Advisory Group and I am pleased to announce Mr Phil Thuaux as the Chair of the group with Mrs Sarah El-Moselhi Mutton as the Secretary. We have 12 parents on the group and will be setting up a site on our webpage with their names so that you can be reminded of who they are and can speak with them about the meetings.

The Principal Advisory Group is established to provide the Principal with a direct link to parents who can give advice on school improvement. They will meet at least once per term and help to strengthen the school parent partnership that we are seeking to promote. My thanks to the many parents who applied for consideration. We trust that many of you will get a chance to serve the school in this way over the coming years.

Christian schools make a vital contribution to the lives of students, families, and their communities. Unfortunately, the unique value of Christian schools is currently being questioned by some who are seeking to influence how Christian schools operate and whom Christian schools employ. We welcome these questions, but it does help our cause to have recent and relevant data that demonstrates the positive contribution we are making to young people’s education and life outcomes.

To this end, our Director of Research (Dr Martin Dowson) contacted all GPCC parents last term about the Christian School Community Profile Survey. This is a national survey that provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to report on their experience of Christian education at their Christian school. The survey takes only 15 to 20 minutes to complete, but collectively our responses can have a significant influence on decision makers, as well as providing valuable data to GPCC to enhance and improve our practice.

The survey link is here:

If you could complete this survey in the next few days, it would be greatly appreciated.
