Primary celebrated Clean Up Australia Day on Friday 1 March. During this event each Primary class K-6, cleaned up an area of our school community.
We believe this activity will inspire our students to learn about the impact of rubbish on their local environment while playing an active role in their community. Students and teachers worked together to clean up an area which is special to them, part of the playground, surrounding bush area, canteen area and our oval. Students learned about waste, how it impacts our environment, and worked together to organise a Clean Up event.
Band Director visits Primary students
On Friday 23 February, I had the pleasure of inviting Year 3 and 4 students to join our Welcome Band program. I was helped by two of our fabulous Junior Band students Jamie and Caleb, who did a great job showing us the sounds of trumpet and trombone, whilst I demonstrated flute clarinet and saxophone. Welcome Band introduces students with zero experience to a band instrument of their choice including percussion, keyboard, bass and guitar as well as those above, subject to availability.
Students in our band program learn teamwork, foundations of reading music as well as giving several concerts throughout the year. Not to mention the cognitive development that comes with learning music, as well as resilience, self-discipline and confidence.
I look forward to another brilliant year of band at GPCC, and big new cohort of Welcome Band applicants. For more information please visit our website.

Sibling Photo Day
Sibling Photo morning is on Friday 8 March: Please place your order by Friday 1 March.
This year STEM students would like to design, create, test and build from PVC Pipes. If you have leftover PVC piping from building or plumbing jobs, GPCC Primary would love to collect these and use to build engineering challenges. Pipes need to be clean . Lengths can be cut down. We also need any connectors Y,T,I, or L shapes to join the lengths of pipes.
Families can bring to school and leave in the STEM room - L11 (the old L1 room) or students may bring to school and leave in the plastic tubs located outside L11.
We would really appreciate the chance to recycle these offcuts. Please email Mrs Reynolds with any inquiries CReynolds@gpcc.nsw.edu.au
Future Enrolments at GPCC
We are currently experiencing very high demand for enrolment at GPCC. To assist with our planning, we recommend families apply two years prior to intended start date. If you have a child due to commence Kindergarten or Year 7 in 2026 would you kindly complete an enrolment application via the following link; Enrolment Application | Green Point Christian College (gpcc.nsw.edu.au)
Please note: If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 at GPCC you are not required to apply for Secondary School. As noted in our Enrolment Policy, if your child will not be continuing at the College in 2025, you are required to give ten weeks’ notice. Kindly advise our Registrar in writing - registrar@gpcc.nsw.edu.au.
