Head of Secondary

    Writing your resume

We are currently in the process of meeting with Year 11 students who would like to be considered for a prefect role in 2025. Each student fills out an application form, has an interview and participates in a Leadership Training day run by Kylie McGillivray from MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship). This provides students with a variety of opportunities to demonstrate their abilities that would be useful for contributing to a team of prefects.

The true application process, however, begins much earlier. From their first day of Secondary school, students are showing us their character traits in how they approach their schoolwork, how they treat others and their willingness to be involved in the life of the school.

You are writing your resume every day. Not just for prefect roles but in all areas of life. As an example, students are telling their teachers and parents how trustworthy they are through their actions. Developing a trustworthy character is beneficial to students when they ask to be put into positions where they would like to be trusted in the future.

At times, a student’s actions are not aligned with their character. It is important for them to be showing through their actions who they really are. I encourage students, if they want to be seen as hardworking, responsible, honest and kind to show these characteristics each day in their actions.

    Student Uniforms

It is understandable that on occasion a student’s school uniforms may not be ready to wear (e.g. not clean or dried in time), however we ask parents to please not allow your child to wear non-school uniform clothing (e.g. hoodie or jumper). We want students to stay warm, so there are spare school uniforms, including jackets, in varying sizes, available for students to borrow from the Student Window.
Years 10 and 11 Drama Play - Hamlet
In Week 10 our very talented Year 10 and 11’s will bring Shakespeare’s Hamlet to life, under the direction and creative vision of Mrs Wilson. This hours rendition of Shakespeare's most philosophical play tells the story of Prince Hamlet’s indecision, downfall and demise. Watch as the ghost of the King of Denmark (Mr Samild) tells his son Hamlet (Luke J) to avenge his death by killing the new king, Hamlet’s uncle and stepfather (Dominic H). His uncle, fearing for his life, also devises plots to kill Hamlet. Follow Hamlet as he pines for Ophelia (Bella T), fights to avenge his father, and seeks justice in a duel with the cunning Laertes (Jemima W). Prepare to be enthralled by a performance that has captivated audiences for centuries and will leave you reflecting on life’s mistakes and misfortunes long after the curtain falls.
