Acting Head of Primary

Amanda-Rutlidge-2023.JPG

Mrs Amanda Rutlidge | Acting Head of Primary

Last week I was fortunate enough to take some time away with my family to Fiji. It was the first time that our family has travelled overseas and it was a wonderful experience for us. During our stay, we visited a Primary School in Tau, one of the villages on the west coast of the mainland. We were greeted with beautiful singing and big smiles by the students as they welcomed us into their school. They loved showing me their workbooks and learning. Even though the classrooms had no fans or air-conditioning (some didn’t even have lights!), most of the textbooks were second hand and outdated, and digital technology was unavailable, the enthusiasm the students had for learning was clear and it was obvious that the teachers were truly dedicated to each and every one of their students. I was deeply moved by the realisation of how blessed and fortunate we are here at GPCC with the abundance of resources and facilities that we have. God has given us so much to be thankful for!

Costume Making Working Bee

Some wonderful parents have been hard at work making costumes for Finding Nemo Jr and we are so thankful for them volunteering their time and skills. Our musical production is coming along nicely thanks to the creativity and dedication of Mrs McKeown and we look forward to presenting it to you next term.

Year 5 Bathurst Excursion

Our Year 5 overnight Bathurst has been a wonderful learning experience for our students. They stopped off at Scenic World in Katoomba on the way, where Uncle David did a welcome to Country, students enjoyed a turn on the highest cable car and steepest train in the world (apparently), and had just arrived at the Bathurst Goldfields at the time of writing.

Brewarrina Op Shop Mufti Day Fundraiser

Thank you for contributing to this event in support of the work of the Op Shop to the local community of Brewarrina. All your donations are greatly appreciated.

Lost property box

Unfortunately, there have been some instances of items that are clearly labelled with student’s names being taken from this box by others. As a result, the box will now be locked. If you need to check it for lost property, please see a teacher about opening it. The box is emptied and labelled items returned to students each Wednesday afternoon.

Primary Choir - Term 3

Primary Choir will return to meeting each Tuesday morning at 8:00am in the CAPA Theatre.

We ask that students walk down the pathway next to the MPC and not walk on the road at this time, as cars will be entering school grounds. Mrs McKeown and Mrs Munro will meet students at the CAPA Theatre.
