Head of Secondary
Students Leaving School Early – Parent Permission
Just a reminder to give the office as much notice as possible if you wish to collect your child early from school. The best way to give permission is to send a handwritten note with your child. They can use this note to show their teacher they have permission to leave class early and then take it to the student window staff when they sign out. We understand on occasion parents may need to book last minute medical appointments and therefore can’t write a note in time, in this case please phone the College to give permission.

Progressive Reporting
Just a reminder, and to let new families know about our Student Report process.
Throughout the year our teachers have been regularly reporting back to you on the progress on your child(ren) via the parent portal. This process is known at Green Point Christian College as Progressive Reporting. The rationale for Progressive Reporting can be found in the attached document ‘Parent Portal Progressive Reporting Rationale.pdf’. In short, educational research has concluded that students achieve better academic outcomes when they receive meaningful, regular feedback on their learning.
Step-by-step instructions on how to print the progressive report can be found in the attached document ‘Parent Portal Printing a Progressive Report.pdf’.
For a summary of your child’s achievements, we provide an End of Year Transcript. The transcript, based on a university style transcript, provides a basic overview of your child’s achievement in each of their subjects. This document is ideal for a student to use in their resume.
Step by step instruction on how to access the End of Year transcript is found in the attached ‘Parent Portal End of Year Transcript.pdf’. For a detailed insight into your child’s progress please refer to the Progressive Report.

Year 9 Commerce Market Day
On Thursday 4 July we held a Commerce Market Day. The students went into business, creating food and games to sell at recess. With the help of their teachers, Mr Witanowski and Mrs Schaffler they raised $644.55 for the Barbara May Foundation which provides lifesaving maternal healthcare and fistula repair in remote Africa.
