Head of Primary
Mrs Amanda Rutlidge | Head of Primary
It has been another great week of learning in our Primary School as our teachers have provided an array of opportunities for our students to be curious, to wonder, to question and to think deeply about the world that God has created. It is a privilege to visit classrooms and experience the excitement of our students as they learn new things. Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we educate your beautiful, precious children.
Public Speaking Competition
This week, students participating in our competition have been presenting speeches to their class. Well done to all the students who have participated this week. We are proud of their efforts. Stage group finals will be next week which is exciting. Most importantly, it has been a great opportunity for all our students to improve their oral language skills over the course of the term.
National Young Leaders Day
We had the wonderful opportunity this week to take a group of students to the National Young Leaders Day at the International Convention Centre to hear from some well-known Australians about their leadership journeys and achievements. The students heard motivational talks from Olympic swimmer Emma McKeon, Bondi Rescue lifeguard Anthony "Harries" Carroll, author and screenplay writer Thomas Duncan-Watt and "Moana" star Catherine Laga’aia. It was a great day of meeting students from other schools and thinking about ways that we can be servant leaders in our school community.
Medication
Just a reminder that if your child needs to take any medication during the day, please take it to the office for safe storage rather than leaving it in their bag.
Opal Cards
If your child catches a bus or ferry to/from school, please make sure that they have their opal card each day so that they can tap on and off. Next term we will be focusing on making sure students are tapping their opal cards so that bus companies have accurate data about how many students are using public transport, so please remind your children to have their opal cards out ready to use.
