Wakakirri

On Tuesday Night GPCC primary school staff and students put in a massive effort at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) telling the story of Matt Formston's life with The Light I See. It was a fantastic experience for our students to perform at a professional theatre. As a team we pushed the boundaries on storytelling and were commended for a never seen before in Wakakirri history, tarp surfing moment!

Our school was given a State Award for the category of Health and Well-being and furthermore were the recipients of a nomination for a National Award. The National Awards will be announced on the 15th October online.

Afternoon Pick up from Kiss and Drop 3

The Kiss and Drop 3 zone is a shared space that GPCC and YVCS use as afternoon pick up points. The top section of the zone is reserved for Assisted School Travel vehicles that YVCS students access between 2:55pm and 3:05pm. There are signs and bollards in place to direct traffic, please be considerate of this shared space in the afternoons.

Smart Watches

If your child wears a smart watch to school, please remind them not to use it to contact parents during school time. If a child is feeling unwell during the day, they must tell their teacher as the first port of call. When students contact their parents without telling a teacher, it creates unnecessary worry for both the parent and the teacher.

Bus travel

If your child catches a public bus to and from school, can you please take some time this week to talk to them about public transport etiquette such as not putting bags or feet on seats, remaining seated during travel time and respecting members of the public particularly elderly people. Please encourage your child to be considerate of others and ensure that members of the public who need a seat have access to one.

CRU Fit Excursion

On Friday 5th September, selected Year 5 students attended the CRU Fit training day at Hunter Christian School. Students took part in a variety of fun and engaging activities and were taught how they could run activities like this in their own CRU lunchtime group. They learnt valuable Bible lessons and leadership skills that will be of useful to them. I encourage them to help lead the primary CRU group during Term 4 and throughout 2026. Everyone enjoyed the day.

Term Break

Have a safe and restful term break after next week. Holidays are a good time to check uniform items (especially hats) and equipment, clean out school bags and look for any lost property. We look forward to seeing everyone back for a wonderful Term 4.
