HCSZS Primary Basketball Gala Day

Senior Boys Basketball

The Year 5/6 Boys Basketball team travelled to Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium to compete in the HCSZS Primary Basketball Gala Day. The boys started strong, winning their first two games and finishing second in their pool. This impressive effort saw them face Wyong in the semi-final, where they unfortunately fell just one game short of reaching the grand final. The team was well led by Michael, who controlled the pace of play with confidence, while Vaaris impressed with his exceptional dribbling and ability to weave through defenders. Every player gave their best effort, and we are proud of how they represented the school on and off the court. - Mr Sneyd

Senior Girls Basketball

The Senior Girls Basketball team competed at the HCSZS Primary Basketball Gala Day performing well in a tough Pool winning their first game and narrowly losing their next two. The girls finished 3rd in the Pool and played 3rd place Coast from the other Pool in a playoff winning convincingly. Congratulations to all the girls for your excellent display of sportswoman ship and skill throughout the day.

Thank you to Mr Turner and Mr Sneyd for coaching the teams and to the parents who supported on the day.

He delivered an exceptional performance, winning gold in the triple jump and bronze in the hurdles. Jesse’s gold medal in the triple jump has qualified him to represent GPCC and New South Wales at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships in Melbourne on the first weekend of December. In addition, he has been named reserve for the 110m hurdles, providing the possibility of competing in that event as well. Congratulations Jesse, on your incredible achievements and continued dedication to athletics!

National Futsal Success for Will

Congratulations to Will M (Year 9) on his outstanding achievements in futsal. Will was selected to represent the Central Coast representative futsal team, competing at the National School Futsal Tournament in Brisbane during the holidays. His team performed exceptionally well, finishing second in their pool with only one loss. In a tightly contested semi-final, they were narrowly defeated by a golden goal in extra time.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Will received exciting news, selectors from Futsal Australia offered him a place in the Australian Under 16 Boys Futsal Team.
