CSSA Cricket Knockout Comp
On Monday, the Senior Cricket team travelled to Dural to take on Pacific Hills Christian School in a knockout game of 20/20 cricket.
GPCC had hoped to bowl first and after winning the toss we were off to a good start. The strike bowling combination of Archie H and Ethan A had Pacific Hills at 3 for 7 with some early wickets. The Pacific Hills middle order was able to steady the ship with some controlled batting and running at every opportunity to increase their total run score. GPCC grabbed some late wickets with precision bowling and fielding to limit the opposition to score under 100.
This total would prove hard to reach as our batters although valiant, were unable to match it with their fast bowlers as they claimed quick wickets and ultimately the victory with progression onto the next round.
We were able to play them again in a friendly game with our batting and bowling order being reversed, and we came away with the win. Congratulations to the entire team for the improvement you showed and excellent teamwork throughout the day.
Well done Archie H, Ethan A, Avery G, James C, Kyle M, Henry H, Max F, Vaaris M, Poppy A and Jack M.
Also, a huge thank you to Mr Brinton for attending the day.
