Mr Peter McLellan | Head of Secondary

This term is quickly coming to an end and it will mark the end of school for our current Year 12.

Even though this year has been different than any before because of COVID, our Year 12's have been well prepared for their HSC.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers.  I found a link to encourage any students who feel they have left everything until the last moment.  It has some very good information and ideas for the procrastinator and those who are in overload.

Follow this link for more information.

Year 12 Graduation

This is a reminder that Year 12 Graduation is coming up very quickly.  Please put in your diaries the following details.

Location: MPC (Streamed live for Parents)

Date: Thursday, 24 September

Time: 9.30am

Graduation this year will be a streamed event with no parents in attendance at the College due to the current COVID restrictions in place.

Full formal uniform must be worn including a blazer.  Correct shoes are needed and white ankle length socks for girls.

Year 11 New Drivers

Many Year 11 students are getting their licences which is opening up all new possibilities.  However, before they start driving to school, they need to fill in their 2020 Student Driver Permission Form which they can obtain from Mr Lewis.

Please have a word to your Year 11 child indicating to them that there is an expectation that having a licence does not give them freedom to come and go during school time.  They must be present in all classes.

Past GPCC student wins International Diamond League Athletics Meet

Last weekend, Nicola McDermott (graduate 2014) competed in the Brussels Diamond League Athletics meet in the high jump.  Having just jumped a personal best of 1.98m the week before, she carried on her good form in the Brussels meet taking out the event with a jump of 1.91m.  Nicola is an outstanding ambassador for Christ and an international star athlete.

Year 12 Care Packs

Year 9 students presented Year 12 students in their Devotion classes with Care Packs last Friday.

HSC Students to Have COVID-19 Test Results Faster

Students taking the 2020 HSC exams will now have their COVID-19 test results fast tracked through pathology.  They simply need to advise the nurse or doctor doing the test that they are HSC students.  Find your nearest testing clinics:
