Community News
Facebook Usage
The College utilises Facebook groups for Kindergarten through to Year 9 to help families share information in support of their child's education at GPCC. Overall, these groups are a valuable resource for our community, but we would just like to remind participants in these groups of the College Facebook Guidelines which are as follows:
- This is a closed group and all members of the Grade Facebook page must be a parent or primary carer for a student in that Grade.
- The Grade Facebook group should only be used for the communication of information between those parents/carers. The page should not be used for personal announcements, venting or gain.
- The administrator/Grade parent for each Grade will monitor all posts and retain the right to remove posts if they are or appear to be damaging to the reputation of the College, its staff or other members of the College community or as instructed by the College. Please refer to Parent Guardian Visitor Code of Conduct for more explanation.
- Any families who leave the College will be removed from the Facebook group.
- No photographs should be posted without the permission of all persons in those photos.
The GPCC Facebook Page is also a primary communication device supporting the sharing of information with our College and wider community. We remind current parents and carers that comments on the Green Point Christian College Facebook page need to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Parent Guardian Visitor (full policy available on the College website). The relevant section covering Social Media and other Public Forums as follows:
- Social media and other Public Forums should not be used to criticise or denigrate others in the College community. The College reserves the right to request material publicly posted about students, staff, parents or the College that is inaccurate, confrontational, critical, offensive or disrespectful to be taken down. Likewise, the posting of photos of other children without consent is inappropriate. Matters that include libel or slander may be dealt with at a higher level.
If your comment or post is at risk of breaching these Guidelines or the Code of Conduct, please contact the College direct to discuss the matter. Our experience is that Social Media platforms rarely help resolve issues that are best discussed in person or with the relevant people. Thank you.
Story Time
With the easing of restrictions, we can start Story Time again this term. Parents will need to register their interest with Mrs Nicole van Wyk: nvanwyk@gpcc.nsw.edu.au, as we can only have a limited number of adults in attendance. Children starting Kindergarten in 2021 at GPCC will be given preference. As well as stories and a craft, we will do some phonology to aid school readiness. Story Time started last week, being Week 2, so we look forward to seeing you here.
Parent Lounge Details
The College has a legal requirement to keep our records up to date.
Please review your details on Parent Lounge to ensure that all your information is correct. This includes medical information on your child/children (only complete the immunisation question if your child is not immunised).
Please note: Should you require both parents/carers to receive SMS notifications, please tick the appropriate boxes.
Thank you.

We have introduced a new nourish bowl on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
