Year 6 CRU Camp

Last week 70+ students in Year 6 headed off to CRU Camp Lake Macquarie for a three day away from home experience. Students participated in raft building, sailing, rock climbing and archery, many for the first time. Through team building activities they learnt to work together and rely on each other for support. Across the three days students also heard about how God can be the navigator of their lives with many accepting Jesus into their lives or recommitting their lives to follow Him. We are so thankful for this opportunity and to the teachers who accompanied them - Mrs MacLeod, Mr Turner, Mr Smith, Mrs Munro and Mrs Brown.

School Surf Safety Days

As part of the PDHPE curriculum, students are required to learn about safety in a variety of contexts. Here on the coast there is no better place to do that than on the beach. Students in Years 3-6 will each be participating in a Surf Safety day at Terrigal beach. Notes have been sent home and students are excited about developing these important skills.

Surf Day Terrigal Beach:

Monday – Year 6

Tuesday – Year 3

Wednesday – Year 5

Thursday - Year 4

Students will need to be at school at the normal time and will be back by 3:00pm for afternoon buses.

Kindergarten 2021- Get Set Go!

Our Kindergarten 2021 Get Set Go Orientation Days begin next week. Students who will be starting in Kindergarten will meet near the Kindergarten rooms at 9:00am. Unfortunately, parents are not able to remain on site. Further information regarding the Orientation days has been emailed to parents.

Musica Viva

On Tuesday this week students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will participate in a virtual music incursion with a concert from “Little Big Band” Adam Hall and the Velvet Players. Students have been learning about the elements of a brass band and the rhythm and blues genre of music. Even though the artists will be on a big screen, students will still be able to interact and get involved in the performance.

Punctuality

Arriving to school on time is not only a great in establishing habits of good time management and organisation, it also assists students to feel settled and be ready for the day. Please be mindful that Primary School begins at 8:55am and students need to be on site well before then to ensure they have unpacked and are ready for the day.
