Head of Primary
Punctuality
Arriving to school on time is not only great in establishing habits of good time management and organisation, it also assists students to feel settled and ready for the day. Please be mindful that Primary school begins at 8:55am and students need to be on site well before then to ensure they have unpacked and are ready for the day.

School Surf Safety Days
As part of the PDHPE curriculum, students are required to learn about safety in a variety of contexts. Here on the Coast there is no better place to do that than on the beach. Students from across Primary took part in a Surf Safety day at Terrigal beach throughout the week. Students practiced knee board and rescue skills as well as increasing their fitness through relays and sand sports run by Surf Life Saving NSW. A fantastic opportunity for our students.
Due to extreme weather the Year 4’s excursion has been postponed to 18 November.
Musica Viva
Last week students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participated in a virtual music nncursion with a concert from “Little Big Band” Adam Hall and the Velvet Players.
Singer/trumpeter Adam Hall brought his foot-stomping, hip-wiggling, shoulder-shaking “little big band” to GPCC for a virtual music workshop. Students were taken on a tour of the classic Rhythm & Blues of the 1940s and 50s and inspired by soul icons James Brown, Ray Charles and Harry Connick Jr.
So amazing to think the band were located in Perth and we still managed to have a live concert right here on the Central Coast.
Orientation Day - New Students 2021
This Thursday 12 November will be Orientation Day for all new students in Primary commencing 2021.
We have had many new enrolments for 2021 and these students will spend the day getting to know our campus and making new friends.
We will also be joined again on Thursday morning by our Kindergarten students for their second Get Set Go day.
Last week was a HUGE success as we welcomed our 60 youngest students to the site and we look forward to another successful day this week.
Parent sessions for both Kindergarten Orientation and new students will be posted on our website as parents are not permitted on site at this time.
