SURF FUN DAYS

Last week our Primary classes spent the day at Terrigal Beach learning about surf safety, in and out of the water.

Each day, they were placed into three different groups and on a rotational basis, participated in the following informative activities:

  • Rescue Tube: learnt how to tie a rescue tube around someone struggling in the water and then pulling them to safety
  • Board Skills: catching waves in on a nipper’s board
  • Sand Games: playing beach volleyball and relays, working together as a team

At the end of the day, students had a big relay challenge against the lifeguards, passing a ball between partners to get passed them.

SECONDARY ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Our Secondary Athletics Carnival went ahead last Friday at Mingara. Though the day began with some light rain, the weather cleared and it was a great day for competing in a range of track and field events.

The competition was as fierce as ever, with a number of records broken. These superb performances are just a credit of the talent at our school and the impressive effort by these athletes.

The Age Champions and winning House for this carnival will be announced in the coming weeks.

CSSA STATE PRIMARY CRICKET

Our Senior Primary Boys Cricket team play their first game on Wednesday at Singleton against some very strong teams from Belmont and Carinya Christian Schools. This will be a great test for our boys who are an experienced team and love their cricket.

CENTRAL COAST BASKETBALL CHALLENGE

Our Primary Basketball teams are having trials over the next week to prepare for the Central Coast Basketball Challenge. Once teams have been finalised, they will compete on the following days:

  • Years 3 and 4 Boys/Girls                       Thursday 19 November
  • Years 5 and 6 Boys/Girls                       Friday 20 November

CSSA STATE BASKETBALL

Our Senior Boys and Girls teams will compete in the CSSA State Primary Basketball Championships on Monday 23 November at the Hills Basketball Stadium. This will be an exciting and challenging opportunity for our keen and talented basketball players in Years 5 and 6 to test themselves against some of the toughest teams in the State.

In 2019, both our teams performed exceptionally well in their respective competitions, with the Senior Girls even making it to the Final to only just lose in a very close game.

We wish our teams all the best for this competition.
