Mr Peter McLellan | Head of Secondary

We have been very fortunate to be able to book Dr Patricia Weerakoon to come and speak to our students, parents and staff. It is vital that our students hear a positive Christian message that counteracts the negative sexualised humanistic message that they are bombarded with every day. Below is an outline of the different sessions for each stage group. It would be great if as many parents as possible could join us for the evening session.

Thursday 10 June 2021

Student Session 1 for Years 11 and 12 Period 4 2:00-3:15pm Hot Topics for Teen Sex

2. Body and Identity: A discussion of cultural sources of identity in the comparator culture of social media and gender fluidity versus an identity in Christ given by God.

3. Behaviour: The science of desire, romantic love and sexual intimacy.
An overview of the current culture of expressive individualism.
An overview of Biblical sexual ethics.
Discussion on the difference between “feelings” and choosing what is right and good through self-control.

“Cyberia” Presentation to Year 8

As part of our wellbeing program, on Thursday 13 May, Year 8 students had the opportunity to view a presentation by Brainstorm Productions, called “Cyberia”.

The program covers issues in which students struggle in this climate:
