NAIDOC Lessons

Primary students have started their NAIDOC lessons this week with Urain Warraweena, who is an artist, mother of six and worker at Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum. Urain has told us about her people on Baranbinja country near Brewarrina. She has shared her experiences of country and her knowledge of culture. Students have also enjoyed completing a craft using Aboriginal symbols. Urain showed us the fish trap symbols she uses in her artworks and explained how this practice worked. Brewarrina is a tribal meeting place and is well known in the area.

Students are adding their reading books onto the PRC site before the end of the Term 2. Premiers’ Reading Challenge closes on Friday 20 August. We are encouraging all Primary students to participate as part of their DEAR reading. K-2 students have already finished their PRC in Library lessons.

Storytime

We meet for stories, craft and fun in the Library at 9:00am on Monday mornings during the school term.  This is a fun time for pre-schoolers and their parents.
