Head of Secondary
Mr Peter McLellan | Head of Secondary
Welcome back for the final term of this year.
It promises to be a busy time and it will be made more difficult with the continued restrictions created by the COVID situation. However, I am continually reminded that God calls us to trust in Him because He is faithful and to not fear. It is funny that fear is everywhere at this time, and it is being used by people in power, yet our God calls us not to fear because He is who we can trust. The problem with the use of fear to achieve different aims is that it causes division and strife among communities.
If we look at history, fear has the ability to destroy peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, so fear is not of Him. As we return to the College and our community reforms, we want to do this based on the peace that comes from Jesus. Therefore, we do not want division created amongst students due to any vaccine status. We want our community to be kind to each other and respectful of other people’s views. Most of the time we make rash judgements when we have no true understanding of other people’s positions. In our return to school, it is important that vaccine status does not become an issue that creates division or bullying of any type.
Let’s pray for this term and that we find our strength and peace in Jesus. Please pray for our Year 12 students as they head towards their delayed HSC exams that they can find the focus and motivation to restart their study. Let’s also pray for our Year 11 students as they start their HSC work this term.
