Head of Primary
This week has been a big week for all of Primary, as students have reconnected with friends and routines. Our brave students stride up the hill each morning ready for a day of learning. It is so lovely to hear their chatter and laughter as it fills the playground each morning.
Primary continue to play in cohort groupings and are reminded to observe the rosters for Library and oval use. I have been proud of the way our students have demonstrated resilience and flexibility in these areas as we continue to be mindful of safe practices around our school.
Please continue to be in prayer for the Brown family as they navigate this difficult journey ahead.
Very Important – If your child is unwell
If your child shows any signs of being unwell PLEASE keep them at home until they return a negative COVID test and are completely better. This needs to be sent through to the school on their return. If students arrive at school unwell, you will be phoned and asked to collect them. Thank you for respecting these measures to keep us all safe.
Kiss and Drop Zone 3 for K-2 Re-Opening from Monday 1 November
We are pleased to report that the cantilever cover for the K-2 Kiss and Drop Zone 3 is being completed over the weekend in readiness to re-open from Monday morning 1 November.
The afternoon sun and rain protection for students waiting for pick-up will be greatly appreciated, so we thank all those involved in the development and provision of this valuable addition to our Primary space.
From Monday 1 November we ask all K-2 families to please revert to drop-off and pick-up from Kiss and Drop Zone 3.
Hats
Hats are compulsory for outdoor play. Please make sure your children have their hat with their name in it, at school each day. Students without a hat will be asked to sit under the shaded COLA during break times and will miss their play.
Canteen
Primary students are only allowed to purchase items from the canteen through an order only system. If you have not done already so, please take time to familiarise yourself with the Munchery ordering system and set up your account.
Christmas Shoe Boxes due November 12
Last week in Chapel I spoke about my family's journey, living overseas and sharing God's Word, the Bible, with those that lived in our area. I encouraged students to look for ways they could share what God means to them. A practical way we can be the hands and feet of God is to complete the Operation Christmas Child shoe box. If this is something your family would like to do take time to discuss with your child what they can put in the box, read the leaflet together Each box also requires senders to pay the $10 shipping, you can track your Christmas box.
Assistance Required to Cover Books
Are you able to assist with book covering? Small packages of precut contact and new Primary school readers would be sent home to cover. Please contact Michelle Molketin on michelle.molkentin@gpcc.nsw.edu.au to arrange collection.
