This year, we had a wonderful Secondary Athletics Carnival at the start of Term 2!

We had a number of records broken throughout the day, with 3 in the first three races. There were records tumbling in the 800m, high jump and other events. It was a fantastic carnival, with the Eagles eventual winners.

It was unfortunate however that the students who qualified for Zone were not able to further develop their skills. I’m sure that they were aiming on progressing through the levels, moving through Zone and then heading to CSSA, event CIS if their results landed them in the top 3.

Though it is a shame that these carnivals were not held this year, there is an opportunity for students in Secondary to compete at the 2021 NSW All Schools Athletics Championships.

This exciting carnival is held on Thursday 9^th December to Sunday 12^th December at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

This event is open to all students in Secondary, with no qualification standards required to enter. Registrations are open now at the following website: https://www.nswathletics.org.au/events/114921/?utm_source=Website

All entries must be registered and paid for through this portal. It will cost $25 per event for members or $30 if you are not a member. Participants must be members of Athletics NSW or become an All Schools non-member participant before registering.

I would like to encourage any student in Secondary who enjoy competing in track and/or field events to consider registering for NSW All Schools. It will be a great opportunity to compete at a representative level in 2021, especially with so many carnivals cancelled this year.
