    Operation Christmas Child

A BIG thank you to our students and families for the amazing response to our Christmas Shoebox appeal. This week 2D worked together to pack the shoeboxes onto the truck sending them off to Samaritan's Purse and to children around the world. Together we collected 257 boxes. Congratulations and thank you.

    Thanksgiving Services

Due to the requirement to keep cohorts of students separated, we will be having three stage-based Thanksgiving Services. At this stage, under current restrictions, parents are not allowed to attend these Thanksgiving Services. Please understand this is entirely due to the need to remain compliant to the current COVID restrictions and we will make every effort to photograph all prize recipients for future memory keeping.

    Year 6 Poetry Workshops

Mrs McKay (Secondary English Co-ordiantor) visited our Year 6 classes to run a Poetry workshop. The aim was to help prepare our students for the Secondary School classroom. Students were challenged to think about and enjoy the power of poetry. We read and discussed poems that were both entertaining and profound, showing different ways to connect people and to share stories and experiences. It was a great way to build connections between Primary and Secondary.
    Japanese Sport Day

Taiiku no Hi occurs every year in October to celebrate health and fitness for all students. It is a fun day where students compete in team events.

During Japanese classes this week, GPCC students have been able to join in with some fun games too.

    UnBEElievable Bees

Year 3 are completing a Science unit on Survival of Living Things.

They know that flowers depend on bees to be pollinated, as this simple experiment shows.
