Head of Primary
Last Tuesday, most of our Primary leaders (along with 4000 other students from schools across NSW) ventured into the city to attend the National Young Leaders Day.
The keynote speakers for the day included:
Bronte Campbell - Olympic Swimmer
Josh Pyke - musician and author
Anthony (Harries) Carroll - Bondi Rescue
Lachie Smart – Explorer and Aviator
It was wonderful for our leaders to hear stories of turning failure into success, goal setting, planning, and making a difference when you are a person of influence. They also had a few opportunities to show off their dance moves with the DJ. The three hour train ride in did not deter our students from being enthusiastic and representing GPCC in an outstanding manner.
A big thanks to Mrs Gouws and Mr Cantor for their supervision and organisation along with Mrs Brooke Milsom for her logistical support at school. We look forward to seeing our leaders continue to grow, learn and make a positive impact within our school community.

Primary CRU Fridays
The Primary CRU group had an amazing time together last week playing games, singing and learning about God. Our Year 6 leaders spoke about the way our sins trap us – especially with guilt. They used cling film to trap a volunteer. Children wrote some of the sins that they find hard to stop on the plastic wrap. The leaders then explained that when we stop trying to hide our sin from God and truly say sorry to Him, we are forgiven. They cut through the cling film to show our volunteer freed from guilt. CRU is held every Friday at lunch. Years 3-4 meet in Mrs Bourke’s classroom and Years 5-6 meet in Mr Turner’s classroom.

Shoes, Hair and Jewellery
From Monday we will be focusing on our Primary uniform and ensuring all students are representing our College respectfully through the wearing of our uniform.
Please note our Primary Uniform Policy clearly states that all students must wear the following:
Formal Shoes: Black low profile polishable leather shoes, fully enclosed and protecting the foot.
Hair: Shoulder length hair for both boys and girls must be fully tied back. Hair must be of a neat and tidy appearance and should not draw attention to themselves in colour, cut or style.
NO jewellery should be worn apart from a watch, and gold or silver sleepers or plain stud earrings.
If you have concerns about any of the above, please do not hesitate to be in contact.
Please contact Mr Gibbins on joel.gibbins@gpcc.nsw.edu.au for more information.
