Musical Disney’s The Jungle Book  - Kids!

We are beyond excited to be announcing the launch of the 2022 Primary School musical – Disney’s 'The Jungle Book - Kids' production, it will be performed in late Term 3 and plans are already underway for an amazing production involving all students in the Primary school. There are several key drama and vocal roles that we will be looking to fill over the next few weeks.

Mrs Mckeown will be conducting some drama and characterisation workshops (during Primary Sport time) over the coming weeks in preparation for auditions for some of our lead roles. If your child is in Years 5 or 6 and would like to be considered for these roles please encourage them meet Mrs Mckeown on Friday after lunch at the red line.

Sickness and school attendance

As winter approaches so does the increase in coughs and colds for our students. It is still very important for the health and safety of all our community that students with Coughs and colds are tested using the Rapid antigen tests, and remain at home whilst demonstrating symptoms that could be contagious. If you child is absent, please notify the office or register their absence via the Parent lounge. It is a legal requirement that we record the reasons for absentees for all our students.

New Jackets

As the weather gets colder, students need to begin to think about keeping warm on the playground. This year we have introduced a magnificent high quality, fleece lined, soft shell jacket that can be worn with our formal uniform . The jacket is now available in our uniform shop in a range of sizes and can be worn in both Primary and Secondary.

Scarves and Beanies

I reminded the students today that there is no need to be wearing beanies at school. If children have cold heads they are welcome to wear their school cap or hat. Scarves  and gloves can be worn but must be in the school colours and scarves tails need to be tucked into jackets to prevent being caught.

ICAS Assessments

Please refer to an email that has been sent to all Primary parents regarding the ICAS Assessments to be held in August 2022.

Primary Choir Performance at Chapel next Wednesday 8 June

The Primary Choir is looking forward to sharing a new song next week in Chapel. We will perform in the MPC at 2:30pm and invite parents and carers to join in worship.

Choir rehearsals continue in the CAPA Theatre 5 behind the MPC on Tuesday mornings at 8:00am.

Music Viva Concert

Our Primary School students had the privilege of being part of a Musica Viva performance from EastWinds. From didgeridoos to rubber-glove bagpipes, the students were shown a variety of interesting instruments from around the world. They learned about rhythm, improvisation, and the art of story telling through music. There was eager enthusiasm from all to get involved.
Musica Viva has been bringing music to schools for more than 40 years. Dynamic performances by culturally-diverse ensembles are complemented by lesson plans and interactive content, building the capacity of schools to inspire, teach, and instill a love of music.
