Primary Athletic Event Update
We are slowly making our way through the discus and shot-put events that could not be run at the Athletics Carnival. This is again reliant on good weather.
I hope to have all of this completed by the end of the term and will then be able to work out Age Champions, winning House and the squad for Zone which is scheduled for August 1 (next term). Thank you for your patience.
Athletics and Cross-Country Awards
These will be presented together at a Chapel service early next term once all the athletic events have been completed.
Primary CSSA Cross Country Carnival
Last Friday a team of 24 students from Primary School travelled to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre to compete at the CSSA Cross Country Carnival. The day was beautiful, but the track was muddy which made for a very challenging race.
On average, most races have about 150 competitors per age group. Our team performed very well with any finish inside the top 100 considered a huge achievement. The top 10 place getters for each race qualify for the next level at CIS of which we had 3. Congratulations to all our runners who did such an amazing job.
A special mention to Nash P (5th- 8/9year boys), Ulrich E (4th- 10year boys) and Chase C (9th- 12year boys) who will be representing CSSA at the CIS carnival next week.

CSSA Secondary Cross Country Carnival
Last Friday (May 27), 34 secondary students competed at the CSSA State Cross Country Carnival in Western Sydney. Christian schools and colleges from across the State gathered in dazzling autumn sunshine to run in the mud. Despite the challenges, GPCC had some brilliant results on the day. Angelique A (17yrs girls) and Wade B (16yrs boys) were superstars both placing first in their age groups. Likewise, our 13yrs Girls, 14yrs Boys and 17yrs Girls teams each placed first, with the 13 yrs Girls particularly impressive, winning in a field of 15 teams. Other legendary performances included Emily F and Jonathon L (both 3rd), Codie W and Sanjay S (both 4th) Bronte M and Harry I (both 7th), Sinead W, Logan L and Luke B (all 10th). Each of these students along with Ciara W, Ayla D, Charlie M, Zaid A G and Eloise H will progress to the CIS Cross Country Championships on June 8.
