This week I have had the privilege of attending the Christian School’s Australia National Leaders’ Summit in Cairns. Unfortunately, this event has not been held for the past two years because of the COVID disruption. The focus of the summit was on the leadership practice of inspiring imagination. The last two years have confronted educators with great challenges; what we thought we knew about teaching could be and was overturned in an instant; what has resulted post-covid is a very different learning landscape; our students felt disconnected from each other, school and their teachers and affirmation that the most important part of teaching and learning is relationships, without connection, learning is lost.
As I process what I have learnt this week, I know that only one thing is constant and reliable; Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). This gives me great hope, I hope it gives you hope too. May His peace wash over you and give you peace.
Years 7 and 8 Write a Book in a Day Competition
A selected group of Years 7 and 8 students were involved in the Write a Book in a Day competition. It involved a collaborative team effort, where students plan, write and illustrate a book. Completed books are shared digitally with children in hospitals across Australia.
This is a fundraising project and the school will make a donation on behalf of our participating students to 'The Kids Cancer Project'. Thank you to our teachers Ms Lauren Pal and Mrs Kaylie Turner for organising.
Congratulations to the students that took part in this competition. To download a copy of the Years 7 and 8 Book, click on the PDF document below:
