Wacky Hair Day
Our students and teachers had a lot of fun coming to school with wacky hair on Wednesday. It was great to see so many children get involved with this fun initiative and great cause.
A massive thank you to everyone who contributed on the day. We raised almost $900! This money will go towards our Sponsor children.

Sustainable Future Festival
This week Years 2 & 3 had an excursion to the Sustainable Future Festival. The festival offered a variety of educational experiences revolving around resource management, reducing waste, recycling, and sustainability.
Students enjoyed making musical instruments and other art pieces out of recycled materials. They got to see and touch many amazing insects and learn about their important role in managing waste. A highlight was having close encounters with some very cool and calm reptiles! It was fun to sit behind the wheel of a garbage truck and practice sorting waste into the correct bins.
It was a wonderful hands-on opportunity for students see how even small changes can have a positive impact on caring for our environment.

Special English Workshops
This week, Years 5 and 6 students have had the privilege of participating in writing workshops with Mrs Jillian McKay (Secondary Head of English).
Year 6 students have been reading and understanding poetry, discovering its purpose, the wide range of emotions it covers, and learning about how to write interesting and powerful poems themselves. They also had an experience of high school, complete with lesson bells and a secondary classroom.
Year 5 are exploring ways to develop their imaginative writing, considering how colours, description and even the weather can add depth and excitement to their stories. This is one of the many ways that our students benefit from being in a K-12 learning environment and we are continuing to build connections between our Primary and Secondary schools.
