Staff Member of the Week

20221201_083015.jpg

This Week’s Staff Member of the week was Amanda (Mandy) Roberts from our Administration Team. For so many years, Mandy has shown immense patience, kindness and concern for all of our students who visit her office window. She hands out ice packs, smiles and endless late notes. She is always joyful and kind, looking out for those who are struggling and having a quiet word to encourage and check in. This action is nothing out of the ordinary for Mandy but makes such a difference in the life of the student. Nothing is too much trouble, and she has been and continues to be a beautiful presence and constant in our school community. We are so thankful for Mandy, her servant heart and the wonderful example she is to our community.

OOSCH Provider Change

From the commencement of Term 1, 2023 the OOSCH provider at Green Point Christian College will change to Camp Australia.

Camp Australia operate a range of services in several schools on the Central Coast, including St Phillips Christian College Gosford and Belmont Christian College, and will operate from the same building that is currently used by Extend. Please refer to the New Service Flyer below, or the more detailed Parent Information Leaflet.

All parents utilising the current service will need to re-register prior to Camp Australia beginning operations in February 2023.

Registrations are now open via the Camp Australia website - Green Point Christian College | Camp Australia.

Brewarrina Truck Bucks

GPCC has a long-term relationship with the Josiah Healing Centre led by Pastor Isaac Gordon, located in Brewarrina. Pastor Isaac leads the Rivers Convention, an evangelistic and teaching ministry conducted around Easter each year in small towns in the outback of NSW. Our students benefit from this ministry, and we plan to take students out to the Convention at Easter in 2023.

The truck that we would be raising funds for that would serve Isaac perfectly to reduce set up and pack up times significantly when doing outreach with remote communities. He and the team travel at various times of the year where they run conventions in several different communities.

GPCC families can contribute to the Truck Appeal by direct deposit to the GPCC Account number 046 649 788, BSB - 082-574, and please add reference 'Truck Appeal'.

The Fathering Project Launch

Last Friday approximately 150 dads and students gathered for the launch of The Fathering Project at GPCC.
We enjoyed a BBQ outside before moving into the MPC for the serious business of plane making and flying. A competition to see who could fly across the full width of the hall saw 4 winners take away the prizes. Mr Nash then interviewed Simon who is one of our College dads, to encourage us in this program.
The Fathering Project is an ongoing initiative at GPCC to support and resource fathers and father figures. Much of this will operate direct to our dads through a group they have joined, but there will also be termly events held to bring them all together.
