Afternoon Collection of Students
If you are parking and picking up your children in the afternoon, please make sure that you wait outside the MPC, and not along the road in front of Little Coasties.
Kiss and Drop 3 (K-2 and Siblings)
We encourage our students in K-2 to utilise the Kiss and Drop 3 bays in the afternoon. Older siblings are still welcome to join the youngers students.
For all Kiss and Drop bays please place the surname card in the passenger side window as you approach the pick up area. Please follow the guidelines below to keep everyone safe.
- Drivers should remain in their vehicles at all times in the Drop-off and Pick-up zone.
- Make sure children use the Safety Door (the rear footpath side door) to get in and out of the car.
- Make sure the handbrake is applied when the vehicle is stationary.
- Students should put the bags in the car with them not access the boot or hatch at the back of the car.
Uniform
Please ensure that all students are wearing the correct uniform to school each day. Sports uniform is only to be worn on days when students have PE or Sport lessons. The Primary Handbook contains a detailed outline of the College Uniform Policy for your reference.
Kindergarten Information Session
This is an opportunity for parents and carers of Kindergarten students to find out about our school routines, literacy and numeracy programs, drop off and pick up arrangements and other important information about starting school. This session will be held on Tuesday 6 February from 5:00 – 5:45pm in the Staff Common Room.
Parent Partnership Evening - Wednesday 21 February
Parent Partnership interviews on Wednesday 21 February are a wonderful time for you to meet and speak about each child with their class teacher. All bookings will be made through the Parent Lounge and information on how to access these bookings will be sent via email early next week. Parent bookings will open at 6:00am on Monday 12 February and will close at 3:00pm on Tuesday 20 February. Please note that whilst students are welcome to attend the meeting or to sit quietly outside the room, there will be no supervision of students, and they will not be allowed to play on the playground or play equipment. If you have any concerns regarding accessing Parent Lounge, please contact the College office.
How to book an Interview on Parent Lounge
You may access your account with your family number previously supplied. The easiest way to learn how to book your appointments is to watch the short video once you have accessed your account, under “School Links” tab, and select "Help Guide" to access the video on "How to Book Parent Teacher Interview". Please take a few minutes to watch this video as it will make the process much easier for you.
Primary Choir
The Primary Choir will commence on Tuesday, Week 3, 13 February. No auditions are required. Mrs McKeown and Mrs Munro will meet students at 8:00am in the CAPA Theatre. We ask that students walk down the pathway next to the MPC and not walk on the road at this time, as cars will entering school grounds.
Congratulations - Mrs Emily Lines
Congratulations to Mrs Emily Lines who graduated at the end of last year with her postgraduate degree, Master of Special and Inclusive Education with Distinction.
"Undertaking this degree has led me to my current position as an Enrichment Teacher at GPCC. This year I am working across both Primary and Secondary, helping to meet the needs of students with additional needs, and students who require extension."
"As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart." Proverbs 27:9
A theme that will run through the year in the Secondary School is 'What is your character?'
Character is not about intelligence or talent, it is about the type of person you are. All students, regardless of ability, can demonstrate excellent character traits – they can, for example, be hard working, respectful, and kind.
I explained at assembly this week that I cannot just look at a person and know their character. Their character is observed in their actions. As the Proverb above says, a person’s life (actions) reflects their heart (character).
All of our students are able to be hard working. However, if their actions include not completing classwork and homework, or not putting effort into their assessment tasks, they are not showing people around them that they are hard working. All students are capable of being respectful and kind, but sometimes in their actions they show that these are not yet a part of their character.
My challenge to Secondary students as we begin a new year is to act in a way that demonstrates who they are. I encourage students to, through their actions, let us see their true character.

School Vaccination Clinic Dates 2024
Year 10: MeningococcalACWY - Thursday 29 February 2024
Year 7: HPV and dTpa - Tuesday 4 June 2024
Online Consent for Year 7 and Year 10 School Vaccinations
If your child is in Year 7 or Year 10 this year, you can now provide online consent for their routine school vaccinations.
In Year 7, students are offered free vaccines for diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV).
In Year 10, students are offered the meningococcal ACWY vaccine.
Vaccination will only be provided at school if consent has been received.
How to provide consent:
- To complete online consent for your child’s school vaccinations, visit: https://nswhealth.service-now.com/school
- Follow the steps to log in to your existing ServiceNSW account. This is the same account you may already use to renew your driver’s licence. If you don’t have a ServiceNSW account, refer to ServiceNSW to create one.
- Update or confirm your personal details in ServiceNSW as required.
- Complete the School Vaccination Consent Form for your child/ren. You will need to:
- Enter your child’s personal details
- Provide the Medicare card details for you and your child
- Read the linked Parent Information Sheet and privacy statement
- Provide consent
If you or your child do not have a Medicare card, consent can still be provided by requesting a paper-based consent form directly from your child’s school.
The benefits of providing consent online:
- easily update your child’s details
- receive SMS and/or email notifications when vaccinations are given
- faster upload of vaccination records to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
For more information on routine school vaccinations, please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/schoolvaccination.
If you require information in your language, please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/Pages/school_vaccination_language.aspx

GPCC Sport Teams
We are looking forward to sending our teams to a number of Gala Days and competitions in Primary this year.
Students will have a chance to trial for certain school teams over the coming terms and will need to keep a close eye on the notices and listen out for Assembly announcements for when trials will be held.
The protocol for team selection is as follows:
- Teams have at least 2-3 trials before final selection.
- Unfortunately, it is simply not possible for all children who trial to be included in final teams. It is not uncommon for 60 students to trial for a team that only has 10 spots available.
- Once teams have been chosen, they will aim to have at least one training session each week before a competition.
Individual Sport Trials for Primary CSSA and CIS Teams (NOT GPCC teams)
These trials are not for GPCC school teams that we trial for here at school to play at certain gala days throughout the year (as mentioned above). The CSSA or CIS trials are usually held in Sydney and students will be trialling against students from either other Christian Schools (CSSA) or other Independent Schools (CIS) and are usually recommended for those students that compete at a representative level.
Please email Mr McSwan before these Nomination dates if your child (YEARS 5 AND 6 ONLY) would like to be considered. They need to be currently playing in the sport and have several years’ experience (preferably at a Representative level): Parents are required to transport students to and from these trials.
CSSA and CIS Sport trial dates: Please note these are not for GPCC school teams.

Welcome to Secondary Sport in 2024. My name is Christopher Harris and you may know me from last year as the Secondary Sport Co-ordinator for Secondary School Years 7 – 12. I am passionate about sport and creating community in our school and giving students the opportunity to further their talents in sport. This year as Sport Co-ordinator I will be managing the creation of Junior and Senior teams for the sports we have gala days for, entering individuals into trials for CSSA, CIS representative teams, running our swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals, and organising teams to attend higher levels of these carnivals.
So, outside the usual sports that are offered at school, we are able to enter students and teams into other activities but you need to let me know in due time. I would also like to know of any success that your children have completed in the world of sport so we as a GPCC community can celebrate the successes of our students. Each week in our Monday morning assembly I hope to update the students on upcoming sport, carnivals, and gala days that they should be aware of. I would appreciate all contact via email at charris@gpcc.nsw.edu.au.
