Perseverance
At Green Point Christian College, we are committed to nurturing not only the academic growth of our students but also their character and faith. A key virtue we can instil in our children is perseverance, a quality deeply rooted in Scripture and affirmed by modern research.
The Bible speaks powerfully about the value of perseverance. Romans 5:3–4 reminds us, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” This passage highlights that enduring challenges and suffering is not a detour from growth, it is a key path to it.
Contemporary research supports this biblical truth. Angela Duckworth, in her work on "Grit", defines it as the combination of passion and sustained persistence toward long-term goals. Her studies show that grit is a stronger predictor of success than talent or intelligence. Similarly, Carol Dweck’s "Growth Mindset" theory teaches that when students believe their abilities can be developed through effort and learning, they are more likely to persevere through setbacks and embrace challenges.
James 1:12 further encourages us: “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life.” As a Christian school, we believe perseverance is not only about academic or personal success. It is about the whole person, it is about cultivating wisdom, spiritual maturity and becoming more like Christ.
As parents, you play a crucial role in shaping this mindset. Encourage your children to see mistakes as learning opportunities. Celebrate effort as much as achievement. Share stories of your own perseverance and how God has worked through those moments. Most importantly, remind them that they are never alone, God walks with them through every challenge.
Together, let’s raise young people of resilience and Godly character who understand that perseverance is not just a skill, but a calling. It is how we grow, how we serve, and how we honour God in all we do.

Primary Uniform Policy
At GPCC, the primary school uniform is an important part of expressing who we are as a learning community, reflecting our values of respect, care, and a shared commitment to doing our best. We kindly remind families to help ensure students wear the correct uniform each day, with pride and consistency.
A neat and tidy appearance not only helps students feel ready to learn but also reinforces the high standards we hold together as a school family. Thank you for partnering with us in presenting GPCC with care and excellence.
Please refer to the document below for uniform guidelines and expectations.

Faithful Study, Faithful Stewardship
At GPCC, we believe that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge, it’s about becoming the person God has created each of us to be. From a Christian perspective, studying diligently is a meaningful way to honour God, serve others, and prepare ourselves to live a life of redemptive action, to make a difference in the world.
In Colossians 3:23, the Apostle Paul writes, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This verse reminds us that our efforts, whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or at home should reflect our desire to glorify God. Applying yourself to your studies, then, is not about chasing grades or competing with others, but about doing your best in response to God’s goodness.
God has given each student unique gifts, abilities, and opportunities. Jesus told the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) to illustrate that we are entrusted with responsibility. When we apply ourselves to our studies, we are being faithful stewards of the minds and talents He has given us. This doesn’t mean being perfect—but it does mean being willing, persevering, and giving our best.
Congratulations to Scarlett S – Premier’s ANZAC Memorial Scholar
We are incredibly proud to announce that Scarlett, one of our outstanding secondary students, has been selected as a 2025 Premier’s ANZAC Memorial Scholar. Scarlett is one of just 20 students across NSW awarded this prestigious scholarship from over 150 applicants.
As part of the program, Scarlett will travel on an international history tour to the Republic of Korea and Singapore during the Term 3 school holidays. The tour will visit significant war history sites, including the Battle of Kapyong in Korea and the Changi Prison Chapel and Museum in Singapore.
Scarlett’s selection followed a rigorous application process involving a personal essay and a recommendation from the school, reviewed by educators, government representatives, and historians. Her achievement is a testament to her dedication, curiosity, and passion for history.
Scarlett will be formally welcomed at the ANZAC Memorial in July, where she’ll meet fellow scholars, veterans, and the tour historian, and begin her preparations for this life-shaping experience.
Secondary Uniform Update
At GPCC, our uniform reflects not only our school identity but also the values we uphold, respect, and a commitment to excellence. We kindly remind all secondary students and families to ensure uniforms are worn correctly and in full each day.
Maintaining a neat and consistent appearance reflects the pride we take in our school and upholds the standards we value as a community. Thank you for your continued support in helping us present GPCC with excellence.
Please take a moment to review the following Secondary Uniform In’s and Out’s, which should be read in conjunction with the Student Policies v1.4 – Uniform Policy (Secondary) below.

Primary Paul Kelly Cup AFL
What a fantastic day of footy in the sunshine! Our AFL girls put on an incredible display of skill, grit, and determination. They came away with two hard-fought wins and showed brilliant defensive pressure and a relentless fight for the ball in their two narrow losses. Their outstanding effort saw them make the finals, where they played with heart but were just edged out by Mackillop, narrowly missing a spot in the regionals.
The boys team gave it everything they had, securing a draw in a tight contest that was enough to book their place in the finals. Despite a valiant effort, they were outmatched by a strong Terrigal side and also missed out on progressing.
Both teams should be incredibly proud of their performance and sportsmanship. Mr McGregor and Mrs Stubbs are immensely proud of all the students for their dedication to training over the past few months and the spirit they showed on the field today. A great day all round!

HCSZS Soccer and Netball Gala Day
On Tuesday of this week, we had two netball teams and two soccer teams compete at the HCSZS (Zone) gala days in Tamworth. The boys and girls did such a fantastic job throughout the day demonstrating wonderful skill and attitudes to make for a successful tournament.
I’d like to thank the players for representing the College and playing so well, the parents for transporting the students to and from Tamworth and their support and to the coaches, Mr Cantor, Mrs Sirone and Mrs Rutlidge for managing the teams on the day. A special mention to Mr Brown for doing lots of work with the senior soccer team and also to Mrs Milsom for assisting in some training sessions for the Junior Netball team.
Please see below for some team reports.
Senior Girls Netball Team
On Tuesday, the Senior Girls Netball team travelled to Tamworth to compete in the HCSZS Gala Day. The day went smoothly as the girls dominated their pool games with convincing wins and carried that momentum into the semi-final, where they overcame Mid Coast Christian College with a strong performance. In a thrilling and hard-fought final against Belmont Christian College, the girls held their nerve to secure victory by just one goal, capping off a fantastic day with a well-deserved win. The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves for not only an exceptional display of talent but for approaching each game with fairness, sportsmanship and determination. Our team never stopped encouraging each other and maintained a positive attitude, even in the most stressful moments. I look forward to another great performance in Penrith for State (CSSA).
We are incredibly grateful to the parents for their unwavering support in coming to Tamworth, and their constant encouragement of the girls throughout the day.
Well done to Amelie, Annabella, Bella, Chloe, Emily, Grace, Lucy, Miranda, Piper, Samara and Taya for a well-deserved win. Your dedication to training and love for netball was evident in your games.

Junior Girls Netball Team
On Tuesday, the Junior Girls Netball team travelled to Tamworth to compete in the HCSZS Gala Day. The girls showed incredible heart and teamwork throughout the day. With a few of the girls new to netball, the team stepped up to the challenge with determination and enthusiasm. The girls performed strongly in their pool games and earned a place in the semi-final against Mid Coast Christian College. In a tightly contested match, the girls battled courageously but were narrowly defeated by just one goal.
It was a fantastic effort from the girls, and it was so encouraging to see that they never gave up and always supported each other. The girls should be extremely proud of their resilience, growth, and the sportsmanship they brought to every game. Thank you also for your dedication to the team in giving up lunches to train.
A big thank you to the parents who made the trip to Tamworth and supported the girls, your encouragement and cheering made a huge difference to the girls.
Well done to Averie, Elsie, Everly, Gabbie, Isla, Kalli, Libby, Scarlett and Zahli on a wonderful day of netball.

The Junior boys soccer team recently travelled to Tamworth for a tournament, delivering an impressive performance throughout. Their third game, against a determined Coast side, proved challenging and ended in a 1-1 draw, with goalkeeper Jackson pulling off a crucial double save to preserve the scoreline.
The final pool game saw the team return to dominant form, securing another convincing win against Carinya/Gunnedah. Building momentum, the boys saved their best efforts for the final rounds, defeating Carinya/Tamworth in the semi-final.
In a hard-fought Grand Final against Wyong, a superb team effort including Jacob’s outstanding hat-trick gave the team to a well-earned victory, crowning them champions of the tournament.
